Keyboard shortcuts¶
A few keystrokes make Initiative faster. The most useful by far is search — if you only remember one, make it that one.
Everywhere¶
| Action | Mac | Windows / Linux |
|---|---|---|
| Open search (Command Center) | Cmd+K | Ctrl+K |
| Close a dialog or the search box | Esc | Esc |
On a touchscreen, a three-finger tap opens search.
In task tables¶
| Action | How |
|---|---|
| Sort by a column | Click the column heading |
| Sort by several columns | Hold Shift and click each additional heading |
Tips that act like shortcuts¶
- Search instead of clicking. Press Cmd+K / Ctrl+K and start typing a project, task, or document name to jump straight there — usually quicker than the sidebar. See Search & shortcuts.
- The recent tab bar along the top works like browser tabs — click to revisit, close when done.
- Drag and drop to reorder things: tasks between Kanban columns, items in a queue, counters in a group.
Watch the menus
Many actions live in the ⋯ (more) menus on projects, tasks, and documents. When you're hunting for something, that's a good first place to look.
